Bhagavad Gita means the song of the Lord. Lord Krishna gives self-knowledge to Arjuna through hundreds of couplets, which is known as Bhagavad Gita. The conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna happens on the battlefield. It is very surprising to see that the highest knowledge is given to Arjuna who is depressed and disappointed with the happenings of life. The surroundings on the battlefield are not at all congenial to receive the highest knowledge. Yet, Lord Krishna gave the self-knowledge to Arjuna.
